About Leader Resources

Leader Resources Services Corp. (Leader Resources) is a renewable energy company and one of Ontario’s leading wind developers. Our core activity is the development of wind energy projects ranging in size from single-turbine to utility-scale projects. Our company also operates and maintains wind turbines, operates a natural gas facility, and delivers energy conservation programs.

We pursue development opportunities in solar, waste-to-energy, and other renewable energy technologies. Leader Resources is an experienced developer of major wind energy projects for Ontario’s electrical power grid. We are located in Kincardine, on the shores of Lake Huron, which is one of the windiest areas in the province. The Ontario market is one of the most competitive wind energy markets in North America as a result of provincial legislation known as the Green Energy and Economy Act. Leader Resources has sited and applied for contracts under Ontario’s Feed-In Tariff Program for projects totaling more than 600 MW.

Our first project was the development and sale of a 200 MW wind generation facility north of Kincardine, Ontario to Enbridge Inc., which was the largest sale to date at that time. The project placed 110 Vestas V-82 turbines across agricultural lands. Leader Resource’s goal is to consistently add value to our development projects in a manner that is responsible and respectful to both our financial partners and the local community. We take projects through the complete development cycle from concept through site selection, public consultation, permitting, construction, and into operations and maintenance.

Our proven skills and experience in the development, construction and operation of a wind energy project ensure high-yielding projects that are bankable and saleable. Leader Resources has worked with financiers at provincial, national and international levels. The company maintains excellent relationships with landowners, investors, government, aboriginal groups, engineering and construction contractors, environmental consultants and other service providers. Our core staff provides expertise in all areas of project development: contract procurement, wind resource identification and measurement, mapping, turbine supply, noise modeling, project development, construction, stakeholder relations and government permitting. A flexible, casual labour unit is available for project field work and operations and maintenance programs. We engage expert consultants for specific environmental or archaeological studies, as required.

Our involvement in operations and maintenance has been a natural follow-up to our development and construction expertise. Our facility in Kincardine includes office space, a working garage, equipment parking, lay-down and storage areas. We have staff and equipment in place to meet our operational needs and have developed relationships with local unions.

Leader Resources continues to grow and expand. In addition to building its existing projects, we pursue new business opportunities and will provide operations and maintenance contracts for commissioned projects.
